As Minister for Europe and member of the Committee on European Union Affairs, European policy issues are particularly important to Minister of State Rainer Robra, especially from the perspective of Saxony-Anhalt.

His many years of service as a member of the Emperor Otto Prize Committee are therefore indispensable for him and send a special and lasting signal in favour of Europe in Magdeburg.

“I feel very connected to the Emperor Otto Prize of the City of Magdeburg for services to European unification. The award has become even more important, because never since the historic upheaval 35 years ago has cohesion in Europe been as important as it is today. The different perspectives that come together in the Emperor Otto Cultural Foundation’s prize committee have long been effective in identifying worthy prizewinners whose reputation radiates to the prize and the City of Magdeburg.”
